Hi Jim. I've seen this place myself (no photos of St Basil's unfortunately) and this is a very good image (Moscow is full of wonderful architecture, although the history behind some of it is rather grim). This image is very sharp and has excellent colours. Well done.

When I see an image I'm not sure of, I always try to guess what it is I'm looking at, and I'm usually wrong. But in this case, I was almost right. I suspected it was a plant growing out of a wall.

The deep blue colour really looks great Alison.

I wanted to be the first to comment on this lovely, almost Victorian looking portrait but I'm having problems with the interweb here in China...

at any rate, I do like this serene looking image of this elderly lady who seems to not have a care in the world. Nice portrayal.

Warmest regards ~ James

Nicely done Alison. This is what I would expect to see in any Latin American country.

Beautiful work Sonny. If you do this to earn a living, or part of your living, then I wish you every success. I've learned something today.

Take care ~ James

Hi Sonny. That is really a very interesting creation. Thank you very much.

I searched for the Bryce software, and am downloading it now. Again, thanks a lot.

Hi Sascha... I havent tried it in black and white, I just think the colours in this part of China are too rich to do that.

Thanks for the comment ~ James

Spasibo Valerii. U menya stepen' bakalavra Russkii yazik, no ya ne govoril po russkii chasto. Poslednii raz 2006 :-(

Ya puteshestvoval vokrug Rossii ranshe, v Moskve, v Peterburg, v Kazane, v Udmurtii .... Ochen' krasivaya strana - Rossiya.

Regarding this photo, while I only spent one hour and a little bit in this area, I was actually out in other parts for about 7 hours in total, returning to Dunhuang in the afternoon, tired and hot. But it was a good day.

Thanks for the comment, and I will enjoy looking at more of your work. It really is very interesting ~ James

Hi Jerry. Definitely a great place for photography and for history buffs (never actually been to Yucatan myself yet though).

Good image here, I always tend to hang around these places until everyone is gone, the atmosphere is always different without any noise or interrruptions.

Thanks for showing this image ~ James

Hi Jerry. I had no idea the time would be so limited. There were only a handful of people there so there was certainly no reason to rush... but they did. At any rate, as you said, I made good use of the limited time.

Hi Alberto. This brings back good memories for me, I visited this place in 1994 which was before many tourists visited Petra (the southern border between Jordan and Israel had just opened up). It was very cheap to enter Petra back then, only 2 dinars as I remember, and no crowds.

You captured this nicely. Just to let you know, I have one image from Petra on the last page of my portfolio. Dont know if you saw it, but it's there (not great but decent quality).

Looking forward to seeing more of your photos from this magical place ~ James

nice portrait dan. that bright spot in top left bothers my eye a bit but sometimes we can't fix these things without losing the shot.

Good work nonetheless ~ James

As a former military man, I'm always impressed by war machines. They really do have incredible power and let's not forget that the technology that gives us these aircraft also is used in the civilian world to make our lives better.

Lovely image, esp. considering the equipment you used.

Very good. Nice exposure, almost no noise in this photo, and the colours are good. Nice starburst on top of the tower as well.

Its a really nice image with no clutter and no faults that I can see. Take care ~ James

Hi Dan. This is right on the outer edge of a large graveyard outside Dunhuang. Continue straight in the direction I'm facing here (south) and who knows where you'll end up. Almost noone ventures out that way, the only exceptions (as far as I know) being some overnight trekkers from time to time, and a few 4X4 vehicles that come out that way.

Hi Eb. Good work and congratulations on the BiP. When I saw the thumbnail I thought I was looking at an image inside of a cave. Interesting colours here.

btw, I was a trainee in Chilliwack at the engineer school back in the 1980s. I have some fond memories of Chilliwack and look forward to seeing more of your work on UF.

Indeed Fabio, it is still surviving. Its crumbling badly but still has a few hundred years left in it I think...

Nice to see you here and I'll give your portfolio a look once I have a chance. Thanks for the comment.

I like this one, great face (Dogs have faces?). You should try a frame around this, I just think they somehow contain the image somewhat and make them a bit more aesthetically pleasing. Still very good as is though Alison.

Alison, some of the grave markers closer to the dunes are partially covered over by sand. I have a few images of those, will try to show you later on how they appeared.

The distances here are deceiving, the graves in the foreground here are quite a distance from the dunes themselves. You need to be there to fully appreciate the size of them (the dunes).

Beautiful image alison, and a wonderful idea for the kids. My mother would have loved to see this.... I remember several years ago she had my dad paint a giant sunflower on the garage door of the house... :)

Yikes! is that the cable guy under the hood?

Actually quite a good photo showing some contrasts between the two sets of participants. The bride looks Asian, can't tell about the groom, but I see photo shoots like this all the time in public places here in China.

Nicely seen Alison and warmest wishes ~ James
