Hi John. This capture needs some sharpness however this is an extremly difficult capture! You take this bird in a great position - pose so the photo is great. Also the lighting isn't the best but surely at this you cannot do much thinks.

Hardly an attitude... but a smile with curiosity about U No Who! Meanwhile he could try to sharpen her smile...

This one I like. The bird is in its natural surroundings, sitting on a tree. The fact that we're looking UP at it further enhances the wildlife effect. And the 'expression' of the Kooka is what really makes the pic - it's not very often we can see a scene like this one.

The composition works well for me, with the bird placed off centre, and the branches on the left covering what would otherwise be empty space. The white head and belly let the bird stand out very well from the background. This is why I don't really mind the branches; I notice their presence, but the contrast and the 'attitude' keep my eyes and attention fully on the bird. The DOF would have been perfect if only the bird had been included in it :-) But in spite of the sharpness problem, this is still a very interesting photograph.

Unfortunately these birds go back to the prehistoric era when punk haircuts were still in vogue. Side on view to come. Much more birdlike.

So lovely! Very cute bird, nicely composed and good DOF. But the head feels a little bit to unsharp.

An interesting expression for a bird with an interesting name! I believe that the picture could be a little sharper and the branches are not ideal, especially the one in the low right ... but the subject is nice !
