About Not the best composition, but I like the angle of the bug and the DOF.

I think this is an excellent macro, although I wish his leg wasn't cut off.

I think the sharpness of the eye, the way the light passes through his translucent legs and the bright bold colours you've got make it a very pleasing image to look at.

I always manual focus for my shots Michael. I know what you mean. You have to be very sneaky with these little guys. A stealth photographer, hehehe. The big secret is to move in very, very slowly on them and try to hide behind the camera.Don't bring your hand up to the lens quickly or that will startle them. Good luck and thanks for the comments on my portfolio:)

James:

High praise for someone with a solid portfolio such as yours - I think you are correct in the composition - it's off. but when you have a 35mm manual focus just getting close without scaring the think is a real feat...

Great clarity of the eyes Michael, you might of improved on your composition by raising the camera a bit and getting the ends of the flower with a little separation but overall I like it. Good work.
