This would be my favourite of the three you've shown so far, Michael. I like the drama of the fall over the edge, with all the lines leading down into the bottom, which is dark and threatening.
The light looks fantastic and ever-changing on the top part.

Majestic scenery, and you were lucky with this awesome sky and lighting that day. PS work is not visible, like a good makeup ;-)

yep, i love my card ;^) only way to go if you visit more than 5 parks per year. had one for the past 3 years or so. i wanted to get a lifetime pass (golden eagle or somesuch) but it's only for seniors :(

Hilarious. Just solid rock, through and through with a massive plummet. The name Black Canyon comes from the fact that it is so deep the light does not get to the bottom. Makes for interesting shadows in late afternoon.

The general strategy is to buy a year long National Parks Pass and then use our "bling" card at all the monuments, grasslands, nature areas, and parks we can get to...

interesting shadow, michael. what is that thing? it reminds me of the "large wooden rabbit" the knights built in "the holy grail" ;^)

Very nice. The Black Canyon is indeed awesome country. I hope to someday go up HWY 92 (goes across Blue Mesa dam) and get some shots on the way to Crawford.
