Absolutely. And you're right, I don't approach all my photography in a minimal way, I think there are many things that inspire me to take a photo of something, and it is always interesting to see what approach to take toward making an image look good.
wow that was a run-on sentence.

I see what you mean! I wrote this at wrong image, look instead in that one where it´s two triangles in each other but in different directions, another where you hold a mirror and the subject repeats .... Not saying it´s not minimalistic but ALSO there´s a complex alternative way of seeing and adding an extre "dimension" in your perception - do you see now what i mean?

Hmmm... it's true. I guess I just love to find something that really looks good, or expresses something I feel.
But actually, I did aply my minimalistic tendencies to this image. This was taken in a parking Garage, and I exposed it so to completely lose the background, where it is black in the image. Sure there is a lot in the shot, but at least it isn't 'busy'. :)

I think i have commented n this already. I was just thinking - still - about your words in your last post, about minimalism and yes i can see it´s there but at the same time you like very complex compositions ....

Great idea Kevin! I could not figure out what this was until I read your about, then it all made sense.
The way it is angled does make it look like a spider web.

Hi Kevin,
wow, this one is really special. well deserved award for sure.
the unusual perspective makes the image, but I also like the geometry and the toning here.
great eye on that one!

that's a good shot, congratulations to you. if the horizontal stings have more balance with frame lines, you may acquire more perspective, i think. you have very good ideas and you can see. take care to yourself and to your camera.

Hi Kevin, Congrats on the award for this one. I can see why it gets the attention. One of the great things about photography is when someone with an "eye" can create something out of a scene that hundreds of people walk right by every day without noticing. It's one of the reasons the Alternate Perspective catagory is so interesting. Keep up the good work. Andre

Perfect for the "Alternate Perspective" project. Who could guess what it was? It's good that you had considered the changes that P.J. Meish suggested, and interesting that you decided against. Best to be true to your own vision, although better to remain open to alternative suggestions IF you can manage it...

Yup, the light is on the ceiling. It's about 8 feet up, and I'm 6'3", so it was only a matter of reaching up with my camera to take the picture. I ended up taking almost 8 shots before I got this one, because I couldn't see what the shot looked like until after I took it. That's also the reason it ended up a little off-kilter, but as I said before, I kinda like it like that. Thank you all for your kind words.

very unusual perspective-- incredible depth of field. I like that you can see a bit of the parking lot exits along the edges of it, it adds more dimension to it, as well as another geometric grid. well seen, Kevin.

WELCOME TO UF!...my first impression was of the movie,The Cube!...LOL..one of the tunnels they have to crawl through to see if room is safe,or another trap...have you seen it?...like the contrast level, the slight angle and the lack of perfect sharpness...sometimes a technically perfect shot lacks imagination ;> ...regards,gayle

You know what my favorite part about this image is? it's when you guys let your imaginations go wild with it and try to think of what it could be. I think that's the most fun thing about creative people. Thank you all for your comments and good ideas. The photo was taken at a very low exposure, in order to avoid white out. There is actually a lot of light in this parking garage, but the image is so dark you can't see anything but the foreground and the sunlight in the background. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts.

How cool of an image!!!
At first glance it has the appearance of some futuristic "space-walk" where one would see astronauts pulling themselves from one place to another.
A second glance this could be a bug "gauntlet". Survive this bug zapper and you've made it!
How were you able to capture the lights without having total white out?
Great shot, thanks for sharing

Kevin, Hey man, this is a really cool shot! I agree that it would be nice to straighten, but it isn't important AND the orginal does make it look like a spiderweb. I too thought it would have been a big structure when I saw the thumbnail, and was very impressed when I figured out what it was that I was looking at. Welcome to UF and I hope to see some more cool shots!

I actually contemplated straightening the frame, but it was so hard to decide, I rested on leaving it as is. The photo made me think of a spider web, and I think the slight tilted angle helps that effect.
Thank you both for your input, though.
