nach meinem empfinden ist die qualität der bilder im schnitt bei altphotos deutlich höher als hier und....man kriegt auch mehr beachtung und besucher als hier, so meine erfahrung....naja, un die fc ist zwar ein merkwürdiger club zuweilen aber ich hab sehr viele nette und intensive kontakte dort (und ich muss nicht in englisch schreiben ;-)))....

thanks a lot for the honest words. that's what I like and what I want =)
as for the motion blur: I guess your idea with the frozen moment is great. But sometimes, even the best ideas cannot be performed. It may be possible to get up to 1/30 (the actual shutter speed was 1/10 with f/1.8), but only at the cost of ISO 800. Even at 1/30, I fear that motion blur isn't avoidable.
anyway, I really keep your idea in mind. thanks a lot!

Das 'M' wäre ein vielleicht zu krasser Kontrast zu den eleganten Menschen...sie scheinen auf einen Abend in der Oper oder so zu warten...

Nice tones in this image! The lighting is very dynamic, and looks great. I also like the balance in the image. I think the large black square in the upper right balances with the large group of people on the other side. I'm glad you cloned out the McD's sign, too. Advertising is distracting.
My only one thing I dislike is the blurred figures. I realize that was probably out of your control, but it would have looked great if it were 'frozen' in time.
Eh. That's my honest opinion. Do with it what you please. Great looking photo, by the way, I like it a lot.

Hi Thilo.
Congratulations on the Staff Choice award Thilo! It's nice to see this type of photo get some recognition. I really like these motion blurr night shots that show activity all around. I assume this one is a single shot at 1/15 sec. I was planning on trying some using a tripod and taking two or more images with different shutter speeds. I don't want to give away too many ideas but how about one frozen person (taken with a higher shutter speed) in the middle of a crowd with everyone all around in a blurr? (taken with a slow shutter speed) Then merge the two together.
