When I was walking thru the little village by the Sacre Couer at the top of Montmartre... this fellow was sitting there, smoking his cigar....laughing....and said 'come on over.'...(seeing me lugging my suitcase and tripod). I knew I was in for an interesting afternoon. After a couple beers, and a lot more laughs, I asked him if I could photograph him. It was getting late, and a little dark outside, but he said ok.
Rather than use a 1/2 second exposure at f9, I decided to go with two 1/4 second exposures. I asked him not to move, but as you can see his hand with the cigar, he did so, a little.
I like that little juxtaposition......and that is my story with JC Maxim....Artiste Extraordinaire'.
