Beautiful series of abandoned cars..I like so much how its colors contrast with the dark brown trees..very well done!

Hi Katy,
Thanks for visiting my portfolio. I'm glad you like this image. Old cars are very good at bringing emotions out of people. Lots more in my "Cars and Drivers" section.

I much prefer this version, just because the car is so beautiful!
It's such a funky car, so sad to see it like this!
Great image...

Couldn't even have been more than a twinkle in your great grandfather's eye back then... hehehehe

Hi Rina,
I guess I'm having trouble remembering the stuff from the 20's :)

Hi Kes,
You better move your Galaxie quickly, or you will only be able to get a few shots like this one out of it. It isn't so obvious from this image, but one I took from the front shows the wheels are now buried in forest floor, up to the middle of the axles. Over 30 years of leaves, branches and pine needles seems to be equal to about one foot of earth! So, at that rate, it should be completely gone in about 130 years. :)

Hi Andre,

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner! Duco is just a trade name for a quick drying auto paint/lacquer developed by DuPont back in the 20s. I think it's simply called 'enamel' these days.... :)

Cheers
Rina.

Hi Andre,

Great color shot with nice diagonal and reflections. Looks like nature is slowly burying this car. This reminds me I need to move my '64 Galaxies.

hmmm, maybe next year.

:)

Thanks Rina,
There are so many possibilities with these old cars. I could have a whole portfolio with nothing but them in it.
ps... what's duco?

Amazing how the feel is completely different. One nostalgic, the other... funky :) It's gotta be that fabulous duco!

This one really pops. The color and detail are wonderful. The saturation is deep and works well here. Really great rustic capture. Antonia

No problem Andrzej!
I got such a good response from that school bus image in colour, I decided to take yours and Hugo's advice and post both versions. I tend to like strong dark colour, with a hint of desaturation. I like to keep a lot of black in the shadows of my colour. It seems to work fairly well on this kind of image.

Andre, I know your are showing this color version to please me ;o}. The guy looks cool in his sunday best outfit - the colors and plain natural decoration. The the glitter shines great too. Cheers, n.j
