About I fed this guy mealworms this spring shortly after hatching. Mom & Dad were very appreciative of having a good supply of fresh food from this big hearted "sucker". I really don't mind being used as a food source though because I really enjoy watching them as they probe for food around the feeders. They also enjoy any hulled oil seed (peanuts, sunflower). The adult song is a melodious beautiful and complex blend of notes quite different from their familiar "cat like" call.
