Hi dear Ali and many many thanks for the detailed information on filters, films, saturation and exposure. Indeed a hard thing to get it right, since as you said a higher exposure would result in total overexposure of the leaves. As about the filter, I thought that a filter that absorbes all other colors than yellow, but allows yellow to pass more or less unhindered, would do. But you are right. Since even the other things on the photo do have yellow components, these components would pass also unhindered, resulting thus in a photo that is very yellowish.

Still thinking about possibilities but I didn't find any yet. It really seems that only trying other films could bring some more satisfying result.

Best wishes and thanks again.

Nick

Sth I forgot to say.. Using a different film might be of help as different films from different companies give you different color saturations and hues.. although they won't ever turn a normal yellow into a shining one !!!

Hi dear Nick, Well I though about the possible ways while writing the first comment but nothing came to my mind, I just read your other comments, as for using filters I have to say that you can't use no kind of yellow or any color filter for this aim as a color filter infront of the lens would give the color of the filter to the whole image, so by using a yellow filter you would have a yellow image, about what Alan said, pushing up the saturation is a pretty good idea as the leaves are the most saturated part of the image but I wouldn't recommend a higher exposure beacuse the leaves'll get overexposed.(they are a little right now).
anyway after all I said I have to say that I can't think of a good way to do this with a film camera.. maybe it's best to do a little saturation adjustment in photoshop. what ever you do don't use a yellow filter!

Good luck..
Hope you find a good way..
My very best wishes,
aLi

Many thanks, Ali! Do you perhaps have an idea of how to shoot that in order to let the yellow leaves shine brighter without changing the coloring of the rest too much?

Cheers,

Nick

Hi Miranda!

Quite the contrary, I am no big fan of leaves and flowers most of the time. It is only that I post some photos of such subjects for the time being, but most of my photos are not in this category, as one could see by taking a look to my older photos.

Thank you very much for the nice comment,

Nick

I also think about some yellow filter in front of the lense. But that's the question! What color of a filter would enhance only the yellow and leave the rest much less brighter? I guess it must be yellow, but I don't really know.

Thanks a lot Al and have a nice day!

Nick, yes you are right. I guess it would take some sort of filtering on the color of the leaves. Good luck with it!

Thank you very much for the nice comment and the idea, Alan!

I am afraid, I didn't describe very clearly what I wanted. I mean to have only the leaves much more saturated while keeping the rest in the same state as it appears here. Saturing more would make the whole photo brighter, wouldn't it?

Best wishes,

Nick

Would saturation with a longer exposure get you what you're looking for? I like this one anyway.
