Amy, Great start with this photo, you've got an awesome subject. If you go out and do another session with this animal (and I hope that you do!) I have a few suggestions: The background of the photo doesn't contrast with the subject very well, notably by the Gator's head. With the sun at the animal's back, quite a bit of shadows are created on his face that make it a little difficult to see his eyes. Maybe this is what you were going for, but I'd like to see his expression more. Lastly, my eyes are drawn to the lead on the right side of the photo, is there a place you could go where you could let Gator off of the lead for a while to get a picture that doesn't include it?
