From February 2009, my first days back in turkey (sometimes it takes a lot of time for me to get my films washed)... A rainy day on tha galata bridge (crossing the golden horn in the european side of istanbul, to the historic center of the city). fishing over the bridge is very common, sometimes just for fun, but especially in times of crisis it becomes a way of finding something to eat and feed the family for many poor people. these man don't seem to be so poor with all the fishing equipment they could afford. still I find it interesting and nice that fishery is a part of the urban life in istanbul. behind him you see the traditional commercial center of the city, the busiest, most chaotic part where you can find almost everything... In the 4 years that I lived in istanbul I passed from here very often, it was on my walk to school (up the hill in the background) and the region I liked the most in the city. I miss those hard and cold days... Anyway, I worked a lot on this photo with picture manager, trying to decide on the framing, and conveting it to BW. I'm still not sure on many things and I'll be pleased to have all kinds of suggestions. Thanks!
