Oh, and by the way, as far as composition is concerned, I like it just the way it is!

No Petros - you're impression is right on. The image was printed a bit softer than it should have been. I'm currently playing with the image and intend to tone it slightly in selenium in order to bring up the contrast a bit. Thanks for taking a look and commenting!

Does this lack a bit of contrast or is it just my impression?

Hi Dawna, thanks for the comment - I've looked at cropping this image and I think that detracts more from the whole than leaving the overhanging branch in - generally I compose as a square with the intention of using the whole frame. In this case, I was shooting from a footbridge and had to shoot over the railing, so I couldn't back up nor shoot from a lower perspective. I did approach the stream from another angle (see my other image in the portfolio) which gives a bit different 'look' the scene. Thanks for the suggestion and for taking a look!

Great shot but I find the tree in the top right distracting, back a few feet (if you can) and shooting a lower angle. I don't think a crop would do it though, maybe ??? I love the look of the water.
