About This is a typical break your heart type shot an NGO would take to attract contributions to their cause. Reality sucks. Please see the color version to compare, while b/w is more intense, for this type image, the color original has other attributes like illustrating ther kids very dirty faces and clothes. Each has it's advantages. All comments, discussion welcomed, thank you.

I tried something different on my image "As Is" your probably right on the dark colors for I darken it just to make a different version. I like this b/w image. Nice capture of the kids at McDonalds.

The color doesn't do much for me. Even in the b&w you get a sense of their situation. Wonderful portrait of this little trio!

Beautiful, real life shot with excellent composition of these boys in an unlucky condition that nonetheless show a fierce expression. I agree with you about the color version.
Congrats and regards, Paolo

P.S. I had, and still have serious problems in understanding your comment about my shot taken at the lake (http://www.usefilm.com/image/243099.html). I would be pleased if you could explain it keeping in mind that my english is rather poor. Thanks in advance. Paolo

The photo is an excellent piece of art and a very strong document. I like both version, even in B&W it's more dramatic and it really breaks my heart (but I think this was your purpose). I do not know whether I feel happier (at least they have something to eat and a reason to smile) or sadder (this is not the conditions in which children can live and grow up). Bye Max

Really nice, it tells a story well. I like the color better, for the reasons you mentioned. In color, though, the photo looks a little unbalanced, with not much happening in the left 1/3. But that's pretty minor.

hi Jake! Thanks for comment my photo "Harrods".
I think this is quite similar too, but they are as taking a break on his life, just being models a few seconds, enjoyng the camera and your attention. Really nice photo!
Cheers,
Jose

Jake, it's absolutly great journalistic photo.(I worked long time in a newspapers and magazines, I know what I am talking about) You did great job! Do you understend what is writing on a back? "Everything -all right!" It's terrible what's going now in Ukraine.
My children from old Ukraine, it was 25 years ago. All around them dirty and ruined, but they was more happy. Now - difficalt time for children and they different too...
Thank you very much for your photo! I didn't visit my old coutry long time. Thanks for ability to look at it, even if it's hurt...

Color version for comparison. I think it works better, but I put up the b/w version as it will attract more initial hits.
