Hi Alison,
Like that disorder =) The colors are fine, and the frame really improves the image. Most frames don't do that, so you made a good job ;-)
best wishes,
Thilo

No, Alison, that's Bryan's nephew Douglas, who lives in London. Bryan still has to provide us with a grandchild - perhaps you could put in a word of admonishment on our behalf...?

Good detail and a nice feet portrait...... The things people photograph when they have nothing else to do...... Keep up the good work as you already have a good portfolio.

Hi Sheila, thank you for your comment. Your first camera is sooo exciting. To tell the truth I started out by reading the little book that came with the camera and trying the things is said. Had lots to delete..lol I have really learnt so much here on Usefilm. Asking questions in the forum and try to study photos and see what makes them work for me and then trying to use that myself. I also found some excellent lessons online that helped with composition etc. I am really still learning. This is one of my favorite sites after Usefilm, I learnt so much here: http://www.morguefile.com/archive/classroom.php?lesson=1 I also bought a book called Digital Photography for Beginers I will check the author at home if you want. It is really well written short detsailed and concise and nopt one of those 6000 page summaries..lol
I also search for photographers online that photograph things I am really interested in like children and read their hints and tips.
YOur "First days of summer" is for me a great shot. I would also like to see her from different angles. imho she needs more light on her face tho and everyone says eyes are very important in portrait photography. Happy shooting and most important just have fun. Alison

Alison,
That is a great picture, as are so many in your portfolio. I am just starting with my camera, a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W1. How did you learn how/what to do with your camera? I would love to know if you have any good resources you can point me to... You have done some great work! Thanks for posting!
Sheila
