Doesn't look very stormy here, was having a quick look at UF and then I'm off with my daughter to a local rommelmarkt, perhaps some photo-opportunities there.
And no never crossed the border to see the famous huge flowerbeds, een gat in mijn cultuur waarschijnlijk :)

phew what an about you wrote down :)
I first found it a very humoristic shot and then I read your intro....yes I can see the metafore too. So this is a humoristic and serious shot altogether.
Photographicly speaking the tonal range and contrast are very good!

wat een about zeg.....:)
Als ik mijn vranke en vrije mening zou mogen zeggen dan zou ik je vertellen dat je mooi niet in de val bent getrapt van het moeilijke licht. De belichting is op en top dus. wat minder is dat de foto wat moet bijgeknipt worden. Aan de onderzijde het droge( of matte) gedeelte van de grond en de toren rechts had ik er af gelaten. De kleine jongen was dan de gids geweest die je oog in de foto inleidt.
Maar dat is maar mijn eigen kleine mening natuurlijk :)
Zo en nu nog een fijne avond gewenst,
