This shows the character of the tree. I like your composition with the deep sky colours emphasizing the tree so well. Your colours and detail are vibrant and crisp. Lovely. MAry

Thanks for your comments Steve. I see the blotch now! I'd thought I'd removed them all in Photoshop. One problem with shotting in the Namib Desert is the dust!

This is a terrific composition, Andrew. The tones and textures are super, and the color pops really nicely. The trees seem to have a life after death of their own. One nitpick is that there appears to be a circular blotch in the blue in the fork of the tree on the left. Well done!! Steve

Hi Andrew; I somehow mixed it up with this one: http://photoawards.com/05/contests/winners_detail.asp?id=15 886, awarded third place in the Photo Awards 2005 in the landscape category; Think you could've challenged him...
Cheers,
Hugo

Thanks Serge. I appreciate the construstive critisms, especially the bit about the bottom left being too "heavy". I hadn't spotted it, but now you mention it, I have to agree.

IMHO, 1. Composition is not perfectly balanced, left bottom too "heavy" 2. Then, line of the hills could be a little bit lower (move the point of shooting down).
Of course, these are only for CC. Yours image is very nice. Regards, Serge
