Lovely image of a spontaneous little girl - ah, and they are so proud when they are allowed to hold their own glass, trusted enough not to spill - look at that expression of achievement - great natural colour. regards Lydia

Welcome to Usefilm, David! This is so characteristic of little children - just look at those toes! Lovely candid shot. IMO you should have rotated the image by a few degrees in order to rectify the angle of the wall and shrubbery. Groetnis Lydia

Ah, this is a delightful image, James - the colours of the owl and woodwork repeat beautifully - the dark background, texture of the wood, grass lining the bottom of the photograph - great crop, so glad you did not turn it into a echoe of shape of the window - gorgeous detail - straight into my favourites - Regards Lydia

Great image, but IMO the top layer, maybe layers, need to be reconsidered - I agree with Ann and Hugo - it would change this unusual scene into something quite smart -
I'm new to photography - would you mind explaining the difference in shutter speeds between this image and the landscape view of the Tetons: 2 sec 100 ISO, as opposed to 1/1500 200 ISO - I realize there must have been less light available for the Tetons, so you opened up quite a bit, but why ISO 200 for the Bulls - what time of the day was the latter taken then?

An image that harbours a million words! Well seen and taken - amazes me to learn that this building was found in the heart of Sydney, it seems as if, somehow, I idealized Australia, thinking that this kind of neglect would never occur there, definitely not in a major city. Suppose every country has its "Doors'nWindows" then... Striking image. Love the repetition of the rusty colours, green blotches. Regards Lydia

G - Nikon, you've created such a lovely image in honour of your mother, the effect of your PS work is great - soft tones and colours very befitting for such a tribute.
I do not want to hijack another artist's page for further comment on your remark about archival shots - unfortunately I picked the wrong word from your first reaction to Ed Kreb's image - fact is, I have myself enquired about the rules for the competitions, and got a string of quite rude remarks from a forum - that is why I maintain - show me the list of rules and I'll be happy - the judges did not disqualify Ed's image, therefore, we should allow him the honour of BIP. Enjoy your photography - you seem to be good at it. Kind regards Lydia Nel (a novice of a South African, who enjoy photography and would like to learn all I can from Usefilm)

Gayle - the forums are a muddle of information, often hijacked by conversation seekers and therefore avoided by many - if you can tell me where this actual rule is written, not allowing archival shots, then I'll consider your remarks to be fair; otherwise, this image is superb and deserves the award.

Kevin, refreshing to find constructive critisism on Usefilm - would you please explain (1) what you mean by "4x5" camera, and how you can be so sure the image was not taken with such a camera, and (2) what you mean by your third comment regarding the highlights. Many thanks
