Alright Lucas, this is so totally unfair.... you get to shoot aerials of all this kind of stuff while us peons stay on the ground and try to capture an interesting view.
Such a "grand shot"...
and thanks for serving!
Best to you, Dave

As you've put this in Critique's corner I hope you don't mind a bit of honesty...
It's not very sharp (this may not be your fault it could be the camera/lens). It's too busy - it looks like you are trying to capture lot's of things but not really succeeding at any. For example - apart from the runway I really wouldn't know it was an airforce base except for the fact that you told me - or perhaps you were trying to show the mountains. It looks as though it's been over processed - the lower part of the mountains have the appearance you get when over-applying levels adjustment - that mottled effect. This may just be an unfortunate effect from the landscape.
Why did I decide to look at this one? Well I'm a pilot and an aviation nut, but if it weren't for that I wouldn't have spent much time with it.

Thank you very much. If you look at another image of mine: http://www.usefilm.com/Image.asp?ID=137598 , it is a picture of the airport in Oshkosh,Wisconsin...home of the largest airshow in the world every year. I DID take this picture while flying, but it was safe don't worry... Regards, ~Lucas

Happy to see that when you're the pilot, you're not also taking the photos... I'm always fascinated by aerial shots of airports (or any airport shots, for that matter), though as you say, this place looks somewhat "underused".

Shyam, Yea, it's good to hear from you again, I hope all is well with you. I haven't had much time to really explore or improve on photography much...so hopefully when I get some free time I can just go out and explore to get new ideas. ~Luke

Thanks for the comment. Actually...those aren't stars..those are the strobe lights on the T-6. But yea..I don't like the soft moon like you say, but I still thought the rest of it looked pretty cool.

I like it, you can almost ignore the soft moon for the composition of the rest of the frame, and excellent exposure. Extremely lucky shot on the way the stars line up with the streaks.
Well done.

I like the sun reflection. It adds to the picture. Capital building in Madison is really worth many pictures and you capture the architectural details very well

I don't think I was looking for tack sharp focus on the moon. Rather, the composition and layout lets the imagination take off, unrestrained. I would just classify this as an interesting abstract, divided by diagonal lines that could organize the lights and forms on either side. Viewer supplies his own meaning.

Richard, Hello, Thanks for the comment. I was walking outside by my garage when I saw him crawling on the storm drain. So I quick ran inside and got my camera. Luckily he was still there, so I took a few pictures of him. This guy, however, http://www.usefilm.com/image/481573.html I found inside and snapped a few pics of him. Thanks for the interest. Regards, ~Luke

Is this an insurance commercial?
Soyou found him outside and invited him in? It sure looks like a home interior, but maybe not. There is some personality showing through and the pose is by itself interesting. A good novelty shot that probably raises more questions than it answers!
