Hello Amigo ........ If I know you, you are looking for ideas that will make your portraits stand out more from the more typical set-ups. I have little experience with portrait photography .... but, If your subject here was one of my still lifes - I'd try to find a background which would accent the main subject without distracting from it. Patterns, shapes and tones can create such a background. A pleated curtain would provide different tones in the form of shadows for example. How close or far from the background the subject is can be a dof consideration - either might work better under a given situation. I've used brick or cinder block walls which provide a 'pattern' as a background also. And depending on the angle of the light, can display interesting shadows as well. Some older structures have weathered plank boards as siding which might also give you an interesting pattern plus the texture of the wood. Since many portraits of people tend to look similar, the ones that stand out for me are ones which utilize a unique background. Hope this gives you some ideas. Great capture. Bet you were glad that you were not flying the plane. Javed, I use photoshop 7 for my pictures. I make the borders with that.
