I can appreciate these "heavily treed" shots (I've take a few myself), but they never seem to get much of a response at this site (not sure if that's necessarily a bad thing...). Anyway, you've done a good job of framing a subject that has no clear boundaries. I like the lush "greenness" and the reflections..

A hard to take subject since the sky is so much lighter than the the canal. Hope you don't mind that I did some modifications to your image to illustrate what I mean.

I suppose it all depends on what you are trying to get!! I would let this one go and work it out as an abstract - the color is wonderful and I like the comp...

Yes I agree with Bianca, I'd like to see this saturated and with the feet in picture,, The bars in the background detract a little, they tend to make the overall image a little "busy",,, I'm surprised that the DOF isn't more defined with the 2.8 f stop.

Mind you, this is only MHO and the photo is wonderful, I know, I also am a grandfather,, lol,,,

I like the subject of the photo, it's very creative, but in my opinion, the lightning is not the best... Maybe you should darken the photo a bit so that the colours look more saturated and the image becomes more dramatic. As for composition I think it would be nice to see the boys' feet instead of the empty space above his hands... Maybe try another cropping? Just ideas, it's a cute picture anyway :-)

Seen shots like this before. But this is particularly well composed and executed. The 'trunks' are very clear and well defined.

Pity the bird is in the shadows. The photo could use some sharpening (maybe on just the bird itself to make it stand out more) and a bit more contrast/saturation.
