Thanks very much for your comments Neil. These were some of my first attempts at photographing these fast paced subjects. I wasn't in the ideal position for this paticular shot but I know what you are referring to. I guess I chose to upload this paticular one because of the "suspended" feeling it gives. I have a few more that I must upload for you to look at. I'm curious if they have the "jumping room" you are talking about.
My two sons have recently taken up the sport so I will have lots of opportunites to shoot these again.Thanks again, Angela

AN 'action s hot' of a completely diffferent kind it is so good, you can feel the movement - the direction of the legs and body and the mane going in the opposite direction Excellent

Hi Angela, very nice shot. I see you have posted two similar images this morning. My input would be to try to include some "looking room" ie in your case "jumping room". What i mean not have the centre of interest right in the middle of frame. Think of the rule of thirds! I know this is very difficult with this kind of shot as they are travelling very fast. However you are on "Digital" so wastage is not a problem  Sometimes it can help to not go so tight and then crop in the computer afterwards. Please don't get me wrong this is a good shot and with half a centimeter more roon to the left it would be great. Best wishes Neil

Wonderful picture, Angela. The detail in the texture of the horse's skin, the expression with his ears back--great. The motion is so clearly shown with his leg postion and with the blowing mane. There is nothing in the background to distract from this magnificant animal. Terrific.

Angela, Great Capture! I was in the military for awhile and I always seem to get emotional when I think of all the people who have died for our symbol. It makes me think of everyone around the world who stand up for freedom so that we, people all over, can bring everyone around the world collectively things that make life worth living like Usefilm; it really brings people from all over the world together in one forum of peace and beauty. That place is great down there isn't it? That is where "Last of the Mohicans" was filmed at; all that beautiful scenery! Great Pic..got me on choked up!
