The background is amazing, the colors are very vibrant.
I think the positioning of the twig is not optimal, it divides the image in half. Do you have any other shots like this, I think it has great potentital. It reminds me of your fellow country man's work in this website: http://www.naturfotograf.com/

You did the perfect thing....getting down on their level always seems to make it less intimidating. You should see my clothing after a few hours of shooting....dirty knees, paint, etc.
I love this shot. The dof is perfect as is the perspective. She is adorable and you captured her joy!
