Very Cool image. Did You do the film development? I have tryed to get this grain effect but usually is comes out much smoother. What brand/chemical formula do You use to get this? I love it! Robin Dunham (Imagesbyrobin@yahoo.com)

How did You get permission to take photos from the top of the Temple of the Jaguar? It was roped off to the public to when I was there. I wish I had been able to shoot from there. Great shot, great perspective, but Your file size is much too small for viewing. Do You have a better scan?

Interesting photo. Reminds me of "Dune" by Frank Herbert.

Francesca, Interesting photomontage.
In a galaxy far, far away, there is a very big lizard.
Sometime in the future I want to get a telescope that I can take some stellar photos. Nice work

Michael, Looks like a nice place for hiking, or at least a pleasant walk in the woods.
The exposure is good across the foreground. Not too burnt out in the trees, a slight hotspot in the upper right. Looks like it may have been slightly overcast which helped. Too sunny of a day usually makes metering hard with too many stops difference between the sky and the foreground. Good capture of the motion of the water with a longer exposure without smoothing the water out too much.
Over all a very nice photo. Good work. Hope to see more work posted. Welcome to Usefilm.com. Robin Dunham

Robert, Beautiful image. Great symbolism.
So many families died as victims of the ruthless conquest for power. Dolnoslaskie was almost completely leveled in WWII by the Nazis. The population is only now back the same amount as 1939. Is the structure a monument or a musoleum?

Cool sculture Mark. I'd hate to be the poor sap who has to keep the fingerprints off of it though. Wonder who has the "Windex Contract" for the City.

Amazing Shot Mark. Makes me wish that I had been able to meet up with the club that night. If the weather is good I may go tonight. One of my favorites. Robin

Nice shot Mark. I like the tower between the 2 skyscrapers. Makes for a nice contrast of architecture.
If You ever want a shot without traffic you almost need to do it in the middle of the night. I've taken shots on Michigan Ave at 2am on a weekday and the whole street was clear as far as I could see.

Wow! If can a picture tells a thousand words, this one starts a novel. I'll have to agree with John, and it's very odd that John Ford was the first thing that came to my mind as well. Great emotion captured in this image. The depth of field choice with the younger girl looking back in uncertainty. The young woman here knees drawn up. It makes you want to know what happened. You can see the hurt in her eyes and you want to help. I've never had an image almost make me cry til now. Great work. Robin

Kali, I really like the image. Leaving color in, or out, of one area of an image can quite effectively present more impact than a straight B/W or color image. Great image.

If you would like even more impact try increasing the saturation of the color section of the image maybe 25%, and increasing the contrast for the B/W about the same.

Kali, My posting to your image of the concert tickets was "only" to prevent you from having someone use that image to counterfeit them and you end up not being able to attend the show. I'm not sure how that had a tone to it.

Thank You for your response to the Michigan City Lighthouse image. There was a found image The sunset seemed to filter though in a wierd way as to give everything a grayish-red cast. It had been snowing quite hard, and it was probably still snowing over the lake. RD

Sara,
Thank You for Your comments and compliements. I believe I was mistaken and that both were taken at 320 ISO. I had taken some low light images the previous day and had forgotten to change the ISO setting back to 80 ISO. Which is what I would normally use to minimize the grain. I've seen studies that this setting on an E-10 has a tighter grain/pixel structure than most ISO 100 slide films. The pinkish cast was either from the late evening lighting, or compression changes in order to submit for usefilm viewing.

Thanks,
Robin Dunham

Jim, Thanks for your review. I had seen a recent exhibition of hand blown glass hung from the ceiling, filled with tonic, and lite with UV. I had noticed the glow that a gin and tonic had under blacklight in a club a few years ago and had thought it a very cool effect but I missed the idea for an exhibition based on this.

In this image I focused only on the bubbles for the Blurry Image Project.

The Tanqueray was added later in a rocks gless with a little ice. There is quinine in most tonic waters. Cheers, Robin

Alaa,
Beautiful image. Great expression from the model. The empty space above the model seems to off-balance the image a little. I would think about cropping the top closer to the model for more impact.

Welcome to Usefilm, Hope to see more from You!

Nice effect. Very bright colors.

I did something similar with a blue damsel fly that I haven't decided whether or not to post yet.

Hello Pierre, I placed an order with Amazon.com for Your book this morning.

Would You give any insight to the Floating Illusion technique that You use in many of Your images. I think the image of the Bride by the church alter is very powerful.

Thanks, Robin Dunham (imagesbyrobin@yahoo.com)

Pierre, Wonderful image. I have added it to my favorites. I am intrigued to know how the effect was created. Could you give any insight to the creation of the illusion? Robin

Andre, My intent was not of critical critique, only curiousity as to how the image would look with a fill and thought I would share the results. I love your style and have commented to many friend of the beautiful images you make. I hope that I did not offend you. Robin

Andre, Very cool shot. Beautiful height and flow to the dancer's leap. Nice siloette against the sea.

I was interested in seeing what the image would have look like with a lighting fill on the model. Tell me what You think. I do not wish to offend as I have a great admiration for your work. I could only wish to be as good as You. Great work, Robin

Maleonn, Beautiful images. You portfolio reveals some of the best portrait work I've seen. I had noticed Your first few postings (rabbit like carrot) a couple of months ago and found them promising. Viewing what you have posted since, I am impressed, and humbled. The toning on the Dream series is hauntingly beautiful.
Bravo, Robin Dunham

Francesca, One of the many thing about your artwork is your use of colour. You have a unique style. Bright, vibrant, and beautiful. I can recognize an image by you without looking at the name. Beautiful work. Bravisimo. Take care, Robin

Yeah I think it was a wise investment. I'm still at heart a purist who will be using my film cameras as there are still limitations that digital doesn't seem to do as well.
