Thanks, Rick
Sure we've heard of Paw Paw, but I couldn't put my finger on a map to locate it. - would have to look it up. Took a quick look at your portfolio - looks fascinating - hope to take a closer look when Ihave time. We're putting up hay this week.
Thanks for your comments.

Hi Giuseppi,
How nice to hear from you. This is a wild cress that is one of the first things to bloom in the spring, all over the place. Very tiny blossoms. I am sure you will find many friends who will be pleased to see you back. Of course, you can always, as I do, post in more than site.
Stay well,
Greg

Thanks to all of you for your comments. This was the only brave one up so far and it is supposed to get cold again tomorrow. A couple of snowdrops showed themselves as well.
Spring will come...

It is quite natural. There were 40 or 50 of them with different "tops" I'll post another soon.
Thanks

Jan,
Hi and thanks for your interest. Actually, none of these were close to each other. My wife and I are always amazed at the innumerable variations of rocks and layers along this (man-made) lake. There are many places where ones like this have obviously parted ways from another -probably a couple million yrs ago- The lake level is drawn down each fall by the Corps of Engineers, for 1. to allow white water rafting on the Gauley river, 2, make room for spring flood waters. The lake is some 13 miles long, so lots of sights to see. Cheers,
Greg

Hi,
No, while our house is an ad hoc dwelling for many creatures, invited or not, something this size is not allowed. This is on the back door of one of our barns, a door we , fortunately do not need to use at the moment. They can be sprayed, of course, but they do eat a lot of insects and if not in the way, we leave them alone.

Hi Jan,
Thanks for all your comments. The nests are truly amazing - and inspire a great deal of respect!. All nests are made in one season, so, this one was started this spring sometime. I'll attach a full view
so you can the whole thing since you are interested. We find the layers incredible.
Cheers, Greg

Hi Giuseppe,
No, this one is in good shape and the true colors are represented here It is called a California Poppy, but I wonder if it is a true poppy. I'll have another shot of the underside soon, with very delicate colors. Enjoy your vacation!

Hi Giuseppe,
Yes indeed, the same time, except you are a much later night person than I! Cacti have such wonderful, delicate, fleeting blooms and this one is no exception. Thanks for commenting on my pics. The nasturtii amze us with their brilliaant colors. - tasty too!
Ciao,

Hi Jan,
I wonder if you have a large monitor. I know I pushed the sharpness on this one and if any larger, some grain begins to show. Thank you also for your comments on the other pics. I appreciate your time and input.

Hi Giuseppe,
Actually, my idea is kind of far-fetched.. There is a big thing about blue states (democratic = liberal) and red states (republican = conservative) Somehow I see the red louse as an irritant on the beautiful blue petals ... This is actually a white daisy exposed with tungsten white balance. I post at this time, usually, while I'm doing the dishes before dinner and my wife is gathering lettuce from the garden. I try to get is done before dinner so we can look at the days photos whilw we eat and listen tothe news. Thanks for taking the itme to write. We are making hay now and making cheese for ourselves - so quite busy.
Take care, sleep well.

Ciao Giuseppe,
Thanks for your comment. I always try to use light and shadows to show depth and and texture in the flowers. I guess if you see this there is some success!
Mille grazie,
