GREAT CHOICE TO PUT IT IN B&W! You could increase the feeling of lonlyness with removing people from the picture, and you could increase the feeling of oldness with waiting for an old couple to pass bye!
Othervise very carefully chosen and well placed composition!

nazadnje sem jo obiskal za novo leto leta 2000... nic kaj prijazno vreme, priblizno taksno kot tvoja desna polovica slike, je bilo.
mogoce ni najbolj ostra, je pa prav gotovo odlicna perspektiva.

I think that the dark spot in the low part of an image is a bit distracting... however well coposed but a few steps deeper in the field would still let you take all the depth and you could get rid of the shade you are having now.
