thanks a lot, Sarah 
actually i'll fly from bahrain to mashad and stay there for about 11 days. then i'll fly from there to esfahan and stay there for 2 days after which i'll go to kelardasht through tehran and stay there for about 5 days. then i'll go to tehran to fly to tabriz. i'll stay in tebriz for few days then go to ardabil. after that i'll fly back from tebriz to mashad and stay there for 3 days. i'll leave bahrain to mashad next wednesday, 28 june, and spend a total of 33 days in iran.

thank you very much, deniz, for the visit and the advice
yea .. the bird would have been of better exposure if i took a spot reading off the grey feathers. however, the background would have gone completely white! nevertheless, you're absolutely right about the exposure the bright backgrounds and how they can fool the automatic exposure system of a camera.
again, thanks a lot for the advice and i will keep it in mind next time i go out photographing birds.
