A wonderful dark portrayal of the lower Terrace Gardens in excellent monochromatic tones. A brief glimpse of the River Thames with one of the many islands that are dotted in it. The long steps and pathway leads us down to the river. Petersham meadows lay to the left, Richmond town is out of sight along to the left and Richmond Hill lies behind and above the main Terrace Gardens. I know this area so well Sheldon, it's my favourite town. This is one of the many 'play' areas that my friends and I used to use. When we came down from Scotland (I was about 4 years old) we lived in this area up until I reached the age of 24. There was so much going on for children and adults. Thank you for awakening fond memories my friend. Best wishes to you.

CONGRATULATIONS, a well deserved award. Beautifully captured night study with amazing tones and great detailing. I LOVE it.
It evokes many happy memories for me because I spent a lot of my young years in Richmond, met my first wife in Richmond, had my first 2 jobs in Richmond and so many other things. My favourite town ever, I also lived for a while in Petersham just down the road from Richmond and before you get to Kingston. I am enclosing a shot of the bridge that I took about 55 years ago with my very first camera. Best wishes to you Sheldon

I liked the darkness as it created a real London atmosphere. I am a Scot living right down at the bottom of England but I do occasionally go up to London to shoot some historical bits and pieces. Best wishes.
