Thanks Saad!! A view of the Gallatin Valley at sunset. Snow will soon cover it all. The light was coming through the clouds to the west. Made my eyes happy!!

This is an uplifted piece of Gneiss, a granite family. The large shear on the left was from an earthquake in 1983. It was recorded at a 5.0 in Chalis, Idaho. This rock slide closed the road for over a 3 month period. It accesses a primitive area called the Bear Trap Canyon. It is about 90 miles from Yellowstone. There are some great climbing formations and many great views here!!

What kind of rock is it Stan ? Age, tectonics etc. It certainly tells an interesting story, but only colours, shapes and shrubs only will never tell what all happened in millions of years,
kind regards,
Paul
