thanks, angela. i only wish i could visualize colors, textures, etc. while on the fly, so to speak. often, i just get lucky. your comments help me understand what i need to look for in such a photo.

thanks. the polarizer makes the skies very dark in high altitudes. although it seems a bit artificially blue, i like the effect. some, particularly my wife, do not.
