i confess i didn't realise it was a face when i first opened this picture, and when i did there were two faces that i was looking at!
you are very competent at your concert shots,Toli, and you control shutter speeds in a most skilfull and beautiful way ;-)

I wpuld be tempted to crop to just above the swans head to give image more impact. The swan has been overexposed and lost a lot of detail. Knowing kodak tmax though i would of thought that the negative would of had some detail in it as it a very tolerant film. Maybe just a bad print or scan?

Hello Thilo, thanx for your comment. Well as i had this photo scanned from the negative i tried to give it an aspect as i would like to print it in hand, in other words darkening the sky as the picture was taken in absolute contrast with the sun. So what i have done it's only darkening the white sky with the levels replacing the procedure of lightening more with 0 contrast (softly) in the dark room in order not to influence the black parts. Cheers!

nice rework, tolis. by spicing up contrast (or mutiplying layers?), you achieved a lot of digital grain. this gives the image the look of a coal drawing. personally, I don't like the strong outlines too much. did they come from masking with soft edges?

well done anyway, very creative approach. Thilo

Very interesting. What I thought when looking at this photograph is that the row of black lines continue outside the window , just have a look at the street lamps.I liked this detail. It is so symmetric.
