Good thinking Vasile...... whe usually only see the bees and never the honey. You seem to have a bit of motion blur in this photo, but it works in this photo. Good photo.....i'am looking forward on your next!

Exellent fly close up Joggie! Detailed and just enough flash fill without any hot spots. In my opinion the depht of field could only get deeper when one leaves more space between lens and fly.Extension tubes change nothing on DOF, they just let you focus closer( bigger magnification). But focus closer means less dof.You could get more DOF by using an extender(1.4 or 2.0X), because you get the same magnification with the lensfront a bit further from the subject. But by using an extender you will loose a lot of light and the quality( crispness, details) decreases a lot.So i do not think that with this magnifications you get more DOF and more quality. You did a real good job here Joggie!

Well captured Teresa!! Good colors and sharpness. The most difficult thing in capturing these insects is the DOF. I have tried this several times......but with no real succes. Have you seen the photo's from RONNIE GAUBERT (an other usefilm member)? I found them inspiaryng to say the least. Sorry for the bad English, good luck.

This photo is the proof that you do not need color and details to make a good macro. Your way of capturing this photo is very original and so the award BIP is deserved!

Hi Joggie. When i look at your photo's from this
rock formation on the farm Quaggaskop its often with my mouth wide open. This looks to be a very exceptional place. This is a very good photo, but i can imagine the real thing looks even better. A photo gives us only a piece off the whole, but thanks for sharing this piece.

Good color and sharpness Vasile!!! Your photo looks a bit noisy......have you tried a lower iso level. The lower the iso number the better you image will become. I think the lowest iso on your pentax optio is 50iso.

These rocks look like a fleshwound. Exellent lightcontrole.I have seen your other landscape and rockphoto's.......all very well composed! When you take photo's of landscapes do you use any filters( warming,ND,polarizers) in front of your lens ? I know a lot of photographers use them, and i could use some advice. Thanks for sharing Joggie!

There are many different species of these jumping spiders......but the biggest i have encountered was about 1/2 inch.So they are usually very small. Succes with your macro's.

Very well captured Laurie, not bad for a first spider! This spider is a jumping spider......you can recognize them because they make these jerky movements all the time.

Good colors and focus right on the eye! I have a few suggestions for the dof. If you can get a high enough shutterspeed( at least 1/125 when handheld) go for a higher aperture. If there's no light enough to use a higher aperture just double the distance between the front of your camera and the lizzard. I know you will loose magnification......but if your intend is to send it to USEFILM ( max file 800x800pixels) you can always crop the photo. The lens you are using is one of the sharpest around so after a bit of trying you will get a very good photo!

Very sharp and colorfull photo! The most sharpness is right behind the fly's head. The head lookes a bit out of focus. I think when you would use a smaller aperture( f6-f8) the whole body would be in focus and so the head too. You would loose some shutterspeed , but half the shutterspeed that you have now would still do the trick.
