Congratulations with your new camera James! I'm sure you will not regret your choice for a canon .Your photo gives a good idea what dof in fact is. Somethimes different apertures give also a bit different colortones and light.

Another exellent macro Domjan. In my opinion these small canon camera's are even better for macro work than a 8mgpixel dslr. They are light, easy to use, and they do no have the disadvantage of shutter movement. I have both a 20D and a G5. With the 20D i always have to use a heavy tripod to get sharp macro's......the G5 takes very good macro's handheld.Another disadvantage with a dslr you have to look trough the vieuwfinder.....not an easy thing when you want to take photo's of insects between plants and grass.

Well detailed spider James! F22 is probably the best aperture to get a decent dof and still make sharp photo's.

Another great macro Roberto!Very detailed and colorfull. Did you change your camera settings? In your previous photo's there was always a tiny bit of noise present.....here i can see completely none.Exellent clarity as well!

Exellent details Alison!!!! I think it was brave to hold it on your hand.......but a tiny little bit stupid to believe the handler that its allright to hold it. How could he predict what was on the mind of this spider. I have seen people getting bitten by snakes and dogs even when the handler said it was allright to touch them. Never the less a very good picture and i hope to see more of your adventures on photo!

Looks like a scene from the movie species! The way you have lit the head only gives it a dramatique touch to the photo. This is certainly a different approche on insect macro's and i for one like it very much.

What a sharp and bright photo....exellent Gerhard!!! I see you have the new sigma 150 macro. Was this a photo straight out of the camera ,or was it sharpened with software? The butterfly just pops out the screen! Well done!
