Nice light in the scene. I think I would have preferred a person rather than the sign or a person with the sign. Light and colours are great

Thank you for sharing this information with me. I'm currently in the process of reading up on night photography material. Every little bit helps!

Night shots like this are surprisingly easy to take. If your camera has a bulb mode, then you can make something look lighter than it really does by using a very long shutter speed and a low numbered aperture. In this picture, I used about a 10 minute shutter speed and an aperture of f3.3. Even if it's completely dark and in the country like this picture, you'd be surprised what you can get by using settings like those.

Nice shot of Saggitarius in the southern sky, Matthew.

There's a free exposure calculator for shooting astonomical images available (if you are interested) at http://www.covingtoninnovations.com/astro/astrosoft.html

Sure, go ahead and use them. It's fine with me. If you put my information on that site, I would like to write something else probably. I live here in Akron, Ohio in the USA, but I'm planning on going back up to the cabin in Canada next week. I've been going up there for my entire life, but I've never been there in the winter, so it will be an interesting experience. I'm sure I'll take some more star pictures if the weather permits. My personal favorite is the one titled "Bobs Lake Night" because it was completely dark out and I couldn't even see the lake. Luckily, it turned out that way, since I exposed it for so long.

Thanks.
sorry, but before long I'll have english translation.
I'ld like to heve these ones:
rta rapid zoom- downtown cleveland- the ghetto - a curious dog - city reflections - stars trails - somewhere on the raimbow - reach for the stars - perfect time.
I can pick them from usefilm, If you agree.
You can write something on yourself, or I can copy what you write on your page.
you can write me on site mail, : INFO@PALERMOPRESENTE.COM
THANKS.

Thanks for the comments. I enjoy comments of all types. I went to the website, but I couldn't really navigate it well because it wasn't in English, but I can send you some pictures. Just let me know what kind you like.

I don't know if is better this one or the BW version, I first saw. I think that you should cover the lower area of scene to avoid overexposition, what you think?

very suggestive, for composition, exposure, choice of hour for right light, and for message. I prefer this one to that, a little different, in BW

I think that the image quality is really what makes this shot great. It is awesome. I love the stars in it and I love the very abstract feel. You've sparked new creativity within my photographic thought...

Hi. I like this kind of long-exposure shots, a fine B/W, a good point of view and very good composition.
I'ld like to have you (free) on my site, www.palermopresente.com, where I want to have a section dedicated to such images. write if you agree to site mail, thanks.

I don't think I've ever seen star trails in B&W before... it's given this a real alien, space kind of feel. The grain is an interesting effect too.
The long exposure really makes the windows have a creepy, sci-fi feel...
I think this is a unique capture of something that has been done many times before.
