I guess what everyone is not realising is how difficult is to get the perfect exposure on the sun AND the reflection of the sun, whilst using long enough shutter speed to create the water sheet.

Many thanks for your very encouraging and generous comments Brigitte...I always carry/use filters for sunrises and sunsets to stop overexposing the image...At first I used Cokin Grad 4's and Grad 8's but now use Lee 2 stops and Lee three stops....I just bought a Hoya NDX 400 (9 stop)which should produce some interesting results...hope that answers your question

You had tremendous cloud formation, you had sun breaking through them, you had beach and water at your disposal ..but more importantly you visualized this composition.....great! A perfect long exposure shot ..

Just have to add that this is an amazing shot like everyone else has said and it too will go into my favs... think that UF must've missed this one otherwise I'm sure it would have rec'd an award also.
