wonderful capture steve, i dont know what it is but when there is a tanker in the background it adds a lot to the image... great color, composition and capture of kelly peaking out of the tube... did you really have the 18 to 55 on the cam though??? waves must be really close to shore huh?

wonderful landscape, reminds me of a place here in the states called beaver creek where there is a lake at the top of one of the mountains and a amazing view of smaller peaks in the background... wonderful capture and great coloring

nice angle, and fun capture with his one leg up.... so how are you enjoying the 10-22mm canon ultra wide lens???? i love it, find myself keeping that lens on more than the others, well for the stuff that i shoot and you for that matter it works well,

thanks rob, you and i are backwards, i used to live in Herndon VA, and enjoy the city of DC very much, i loved the mountains (blue ridge) around the area, but they dont compaire to the peaks out here, which is why i am here...

looks like a broken ankle, i hate missing the front of the board, one of the most dangerous things a sk8er can do.... cool sequence, my only suggestion is a low angle with a plain background so the skater stands out more,

hugo, thanks for your compliments and critique on my image, i didnt even notice the line on the lower left corner, must have happened by accident when stroking a border in photoshop and i didnt catch it... as per the levels comment, i adjusted them but wanted to keep the blacks away from a true black so some detail would show up in the trees on the roadside. i agree that the coloring is a little flat and i couldnt saturate it enough to make the difference i was looking for.. thanks again for the positive feedback its very much welcome and enjoyed.

interesting image, kris, i like the way that its just a person in the shot and not the camera that would usually seem to be in the image reflection, good idea and great composition, i enjoy the black space behind the glasses, really makes them stick out

cool angle, i like the fact that the girl is looking upwards towards the cat, and the angle of the camera in relation to the both of them, as if almost the same angle of view as the girl... wonderful shot well done black and white steve

kelly, thanks so much for your feedback, you know its funny, i realized after i posted a comment on your falling leaf picture that your season is behind us, or ahead, and that the leaves are just now changing correct??? your winter is our summer, cause our snow season is just about over, wouldnt it be great if i could just follow the snow, be here in the states shooting for the winter and in aussie for its winter and maybe catch some waves inbetween... one thing i truelly miss out here in the the mid west!!!! again, enjoy your camping trip, its going to be a blast and such a good season for you to capture the beautiful landscape there...

PS. i got my print from a place called wolf camera, local shop but is spread out through out the USA, they send the file out to a lab, now its getting sent to georgia in the states, it came out perfect, i framed and matted it tonight, its now 27x40 with a white matt and a quarter inch double matt of black... i love it, above the fireplace, ahhhhh something about filling the home with your own art is humbeling

talk with you soon kelly
enjoy the trip, and ill enjoy the photos when you get back

thanks very kindly alastair, yeah, i am thinking that people havent really looked at the image and just the thumbnail on the photo critique part of the site... i agree with everything you have to say about the image, soft yet with the lines of the snowboard it moves the eye around the image.. i actually tried a bunch of different angles with this one, ending up with this as the final composition, it was the only one where the lines in the background were visible (meaning the snowboard tracks) and the tree wasnt being cropped off by the top of the peak in the background, i felt the white needed to poke just above the top of the tree in the forground to enhance its presance... i feel the images just looked to plain for the forum, to white not enough to draw people in,but no worries right, i got a bunch of good people commenting and giving very welcome feedback on my work.. thank you again alastair for your wonderful comment on my image.

PS, i really enjoy your series of the concord, brings me back to childhood with it flying over my house at least once a week in the AM off to europe from dullas airport in Virginia in the states... keep up the good work, i look forward to more from you in the United kingdom. thanks again

steve, what a wonderful capture of this bar, i love the glasses on the ceiling even though it may seem a little rediculous to have so many, it makes your composition and photograph.... rules are meant to be broken, even though the thirds rule still implies here cause of the glasses taking up the upper third of the image with the action, meaning the cute looking bartender in the lower third... wonderful capture, and coloring, very nice image all in all

great macro and or close up, gaja, wondering if its a couple different images to make the shadow green bottle, put together and blured at the edges??? if so its an amazing job, and if not even better, wondering about your lighting setup though and how you got the bottles color on the table with such detail, again wonderful job, i am always amazed with your closeups and still lifes

thanks steve for the wonderful comment.... you know i thought the exact same thing with my freind eric when we looked at the images in the car later in the day.... first thought was add design for forum snowboards, second thought was laugh my full head off because of the ride we did... its almost like catching a barrel for the first time, or an epic wave, you laugh, hoot and scream, its a wonderful feeling.

thanks agian

great landscape shot of the plains and sky above, i am wondering about it maybe being two different shots as per the blue halo on the mountains right above the grass in the far background??? other than that its a beautiful shot, wonderfully captured..

i really enjoy this one gaja, i love the light coming through the leaf, wonderful texture and blur effect on the outside rims of the photo, great capture, what magnifying filter are you using, i use hoya 1 2 and 3x which dont blur to much towards the edges, but with this image i feel the effect makes the image, wonderful capture

hey barry, thanks for your comments on my image, yeah it was a quick shot seeing that my hands were bare and touching a metal camera.... i also used the ND filter but was on the front of the camera, handheld P series coken filter because the lens is so wide i dont want to look at an image that looks like a gun barrel... the only photoshop work was color correction to make it look like what i remember, the grey color to the snow is because of sunset and it almost being dark, the snow being white would seem funky in my eyes... let me know what you think? thanks agian for your comments
