I just started an email list for photo artist with the goal to support each other and be able to communicate with like-minded people. It's not about showing pictures like here, but more about creative processes and helping each other with portfolios and submissions and printing stuff and such.

because we can't see the child's face it's not *your* child any longer, but a child or even * the* child.
The expression becomes archetypical, which is what good photography is all about i believe.
And yes, i too feel the highlights are a little too strong and rather distracting than helpful.
i like this pic a lot!

i have four cats and three dogs and hardly ever take pics of them since i don't know how to do it without having them look like " pets". you are doing a great job!
