super b&w from your digital...this is a wonderful landscape, full of mood, intriguing elements and mystery. Your post processing is excellent. i really like the ominous shadows in the tree stand on the right and the sculptural quality of the dead trees on the hill. You should have 50 comments by now...7++ kat~

It's hard to take a bad picture of the Grand Canyon. This looks great. I would only like to see the sky with a little more contrast and better defined.

Laura,
It's basically natural. No real modifications were needed to get the colors the way you see them.

JT -
Great color here. Did you adjust the white balance, or is this natural?

sexy model, sexy photo; interesting that the light is stronger on his chest and lesser on his expressive face. i like the busy jangle of textures in this composition. nice choices.

Ahh.. yes... the power of assumption... Actually this picture was taken from my number 1 viewfinder... aka.. my jeep. I was sitting in the driver's seat inside... 'cause the downpours were happening all over the place. But I found a cool spot in the storm where there was no rain.. pulled over... hugged my dog (he hated this photography)... and proceeded to shoot out of the window. So.. no tripod... but I guess a quad! :-) Insulated, even!
I do enjoy this type of photography as well. It can be very dramatic and beautiful to capture.

Awesome Picture! I enjoy taking shots of storms as well... It's nice to know that I'm not the only nut in a field with a tripod during an electric storm!

Hi JT. Very, very powerful, and extremely well captured. The powerlines add a very gloomy and misspelling atmosphere. I like the wide composition and crop, showing the power and tension building up in the sky, both litereally as well as figuratively. Outstanding shot.
Cheers,
Hugo

Simply, I used an open shutter approach. So.. I just kept the shutter on the camera open until there was a flash of lightning. Then, I closed the shutter completing the exposure. Very simple to the film approach... I hoped the picture wasn't over exposed. This one is close to being over exposed as the bolt on the left shows. But, it was a fun picture to take. I have about 7-10 that came out very well using this technique.
