Wow, very graphic, as in it looks like a painting. Love those subtle brown hues. Great shot.

This would look great printed out on a canvas. Lovely greens and blues.

Alison, I really admire your style and vision. This is so immediate, love it.

Looks almost as if it's perched on a crocodile. Great use of silhouette. I quite like the look of it isolated with a crop (see attached), the square format is not to everyone's liking, but I think it can work.

Wow, no foolin' with the macro! Great catchlight in the eye. A pity the mascara's on her skin, but I guess that has it's own appeal. Really good lighting.

Nice use of silhouetting, and great use of light. Nively framed too, I like the way the moonman's foot rests on the bottom. This would look great in a black frame. Lovely poem too. So you've changed your surname too huh?

You've captured some very delicate tones here, nicely balanced shot.

Striking shot, nice use of the thirds, good exposure and amazing colours. Well done.

Great, I like the high-key feel and the movement captured.

Alison, every time I take a look at your work, it just gets stronger. The colour, shape, texture, brilliant!

Yeah, I was surprised I got results, the whole spool was well exposed. Yep, the crop works well, really isolates the shapes of the hands and forearms.

Super shot, professional lighting and pose, and the selective use of colour really works.

Alison, buy a grey graduate filter (Cokin is the most popular manufacturer) and simply hold it in front of the lens when taking, especially with landscapes where the light difference between for and background can be too much. People often think that blown highlights can be rescued by PhotoShop, but that's simply not true. They're cheap to buy, and well worth it.

Again, great eye for detail and composition. I like the diagonal created and the division between light & dark split by colour.

Hi Alison,

The model is my sister, took it when I was visiting the family in South Africa, in an old wreaked house on the coast. Contrast was high, so the sea background was lost in the highlights. Yep, I haven't been posting lately, my circumstances are changing, but I hope to be able to start again soon, and with some good, creative stuff!

Yep, I like tunnel shots too, though I'm usually the driver, which makes them a little dangerous, but hey! Well done with this one, really like the greys and muted colours, the sense of vibration. Shutter speed around 1/8th or so?

Alison, I reckon that this is your finest work yet, and I'm not only referring to this shot. Wow, the exposure is right on the nail, retaining lowlight detail and colour, while really bringing out the blue of the sky. The way you've framed this shot with the trees left right and below is suberb. I'd have liked to have seen a shot with a tiny bit more sky at the top, to contain the thrust of the flower. Lovely image totally open to interpretation.

Strong image, I love the sun in the sky and on the water, blues are very intense.
