Beautiful. The foreground really makes this shot, adding an extra sense of depth, I like the way the grass in the middle extends into the curve of the water. Must have been a real still morning.

Love this semi-silhoette, and the blue space around her, really conveys many emotions. Just seen your comments on it '...mind flutters...' this conveys this perfectly.

Great point of view, getting down to the dog's level - adds foreground interest and loads of sky.

Garish colour, very in-your-face (modern life is rubbish!). I'd say the image would have benefitted with a stop less exposure as the leaf highlights are blown. The purple would have been even deeper then. Amazing how digital cameras can get so close up.

Sounds like you had fun taking this. Fantastic capture of movement; would have liked to have seen the base of the pole, as is look cut off, but I'm just being fussy - well done!

Really lovely capture, all 3 girls have very different individual expressions. Lovely colours, and having the sun to their backs has given soft, even light on thier faces. Nice one!

Stunning, you've framed this just right. A polarising filter would have achieved similar saturation. Thanks for also supplying the original, it has it's own charm and would look great reproduced large on a wall. Also useful to compare the 2.

Exposure was about 10 seconds, aperture around f8. It wasn't totally dark at the time, and I printed at around grade 4 to add contrast. I used centre-weighted metering off the central building - I knew that this would do the trick as light and dark tones were evenly distributed. I also bracketed - exposure at 5 seconds, this negative as also useable. Thanks for comment!

Hello! The scene is near the Canary Wharf tube station in London's docklands. The building - top right is one of the tallest buildings in London and a bit of a landmark. Same building as the image downhereupthere in my portfolio (used to work nearby ;-))

Point & shoot, that's what it's all about! In a strange way I feel your shadow in the picture has made this shot. For me the cloud takes on the mantle of a natural entity, you being the observer and recorder. That being said, it would have been a cracker without the shadow too. Like your portfolio by the way.
