No, I didn't. I watched the sonographer take it if that counts though!

Thanks for the congrats Cheryl, much appreciated. We don't know yet what sex bump is, and we're determined not to find out until the big day

Great capture Zam. Watch your DOF on the 5000, I found f/4.6 about right on these fellas, you tend to get more of the wings in focus then.

Beautiful saturation of colours and a fantastic subject. If I may be so bold, perhaps a slightly tighter crop, so that the horse and rider is more in the "rule of thirds" grid. Also, a little straightening of the image so that the horizon is level would make this a fantastic pic.

Good luch to get the capture. I saw a huge one of these in exactly the same place, one day, then the next day, in the Cotswalds in November. It was about 10am and both were frosty mornings which figures from your explanation.

Unfortunately, you guessed it - no camera and no way of stopping in the road if I did. Good work

Dunno whether I'm right or not, but maybe you should have thought about protecting you CCD from the ultraviolet rays coming from the arc. That's what causes Arc-eye in humans eyes. Maybe a skylight 1a/1b filter would have protected your camera's sensor a bit?

You definitely wouldn't want to eat a lugworm Lori! The smell of them would put you off anyway! They're used for sea fishing with a rod.

Thank you for your kind comment. She is isn't she?! That was taken hand held from right across the room at max zoom with my Fuji 5000. I just wish I had my 300D back then.

I paid for the egypt cruise as a surprise wedding present to Hayley. We went from Limmassol to Port Said

Hi Margaret

I took the photo thinking it was an allium, but on closer inspection, the main stems were woody and had thorns.

Great shot! Lovely compo, dof and contrasts. Just that faint thin line at the top RHS that detracts from the overall beauty.

Straight to the favourites!
