thanks for your splendid comments. That is wy I continue to shoot and use film. It gives me the power to do as I want to to do, and I know what I can do.

Having a digital camera, which I am just learnig to use, but has different reasons for using it, I still none-the-less prefer to use film.

Walt. Excellent Photo! I really like the way the Provia captures the shadow and textures in each petal. Great color. Awsome shot!

Thanks for your remarks. I forgot where I found them, but they pulled my eyes right into them so I ran over, composed and then took my shot.

Thanks again Dave. Unfortunately, I'll never be able to shoot this scene again; the powers-that-be put up a big steel fence around the upright decor at the end, so that almost ruins the whole view.
Anyway, this is a nice quiet park right down in the middle of the city. Nobody around to notice or disturb one's concentration.

Thanks Dave; I can photograph them but have never been up in one. Have I been missing something?

Lots of action there, Walt, against that dramatic blue sky! I can sense the movement, almost feel the g's as the chairs swing outward!

Good exposure there, Walt, just enough to show details, but the lights aren't overpowering. A nice quiet scene.

thank you, my friend. Maybe not a perfect shot; they're waiting and longing for the sunshine, to bring them alive.

Thanks for your kind remarks. Photography is not just a hobby or a past-time, it a great passion, a deep love, and a need to see, to create, and also more, to share my visions with others, so thatthey may enjoy also.

Thanks for your rating. I consider that a highest honor, something that I may be proud of and think of with warm feelings.

Very nice scenic, Walt! I love these old building, and one like this that still has a purpose is even better. Great capture of the wood textures and details.
Have a great Christmas and New Year!

Lots of sharp detail in the wood and at the same time the water is allowed to be soft and flowing. A good choice of shutter speed/ aperture. This is one of those classic scenic views that is easy on the eye.

Thanks for ading your comments.

This mill set at the bottom of a steep hill, down in a valley, with a steep hill going up the other side. This was taken at about 7:00 AM.
The shadows come from trees and the angle of the sun, coming from the East.
When the sun is higher, then the light flattens out and loses color, or hue.
so I have a choice of getting the morning light, or the middle-day light(overhead), or long shadows with little light.
I took this picture from an old metal road bridge spanning the creek. I didn't really search for other views, but I might have gone down into the creek bed; the hill opposite is somebody's yard with NO Tresspassing signs.
Obviously, too many people come and try to get diffent angles, so the owners are upset and want everybody to stay out of their property.

Just an explanation as to why the shadows are present. You see it in it's natural setting.

Walt, I think this is a very good shot. The composition is spot on, but I must admit that I do find the shadow to the left and over the stream just a little distracting. I don't claim to be an expert, just my thought. Well done.

Thanks for the comments. That is snow, New Mexico in Feburary. so it really does snow in the desert. Not much but look around in the winter months and you'll find it.

Happy Holidays.

Hi Walt,
I only shot my first roll of slides recently the film roll is still in my fridge LOL!
When I first saw this photo I thought the white stuff are snow because you more recent photos are of the winter season.
Well done!
Ben
