Thanks for your comments. It's nice to get constructive feedback, from an associate photographer.
That was long ago when I had a chance to travel.
Now I'm older and have less chance to travel, so have to make do with pictures from my files.

thanks for your remarks. I love to find and photograph deserted bldgs, and ruins.

I'm ready to go back into service, so if you find anybody wanting volunteers to go to Iraq, let me know.

Thanks for your remarks. This part of the country is never lacking for snow; so if anybody travels through it's a great place to get pictures; it's also a good place to avoid as it is very likely to get one's car stuck or in the ditch, unless properly prepared.

Well composed, Walt. Everything in the frame adds to the shot. From the fence leading in from the lower left to the tree left of center, you picked and shot the perfect angle.

Yes, the sky adds to the mood of power.
Wondeful tones and colors Walt.
Thanx for sharing, regards,
Khaled.

Beautiful silhouettes Walt.
The violet curtain and backlighting gave a wonderful mood to the photo.
Well done, regards,
Khaled.

It was just one of those times and places that all came together at the right time.

Each picture is just being somewhere at the right time, or seeing something that nobody else has, or bothered to record.

Thanks for your comments, Dave. I entered this in a contest once, long ago, and the guy said that he knew the place and the colors didn't look real.

BTW, I won't be posting often any longer; I am attending college so I won't have the time to do all that is required to add pictures here.

Now that you mention it, I think you're right! What I noticed about your image, Walt, is the sky behind the transformer, giving the feeling of power and impending storm.

Yep, it was a cold winter; the roads were covered with snow and ice, and I was getting low on gas.

Had to keep going though; couldn't even stop for a warm cup of Hot Chocolate.

This is an interesting question. If the digital image would a perfect reflection of word, I agree with yours aproach. But CCD (or CMOC) has its own characteristics and distort colours, it being known that quite individually.
In Ancel Adams Guide there are interesting thoughts about nature of colour photography...

Serge

I had my tripod set up, and many people were moving about to worship and clean the temple.

This lady was just passing through!

Thank you for your remarks. There are some local Indians who make pottery and jewelry at this mission.
There are many places to get different views of the historic flavor of the mission.

Thanks for your remarks. This is a very beautiful bldg, in a very dusty, unattractive area.
Many people come here to view and photograph the building. On week ends, the local Indians sell jewelry and other handmade attractions.

Thanks again. It'a really necessary to walk around and shoot this building from every angle, and possible place to give a sense of location and shape.

Thanks for your remarks. I was trying to add a strong foreground; also show some difference between the mission and the old temporary Indian shelter.

Your shot is just as good in B & W. It's difficult to mess up this place in either the color or the B & W. It has a natural beauty.
