This is a frightening image, in that it could happen to any one of us. I've always found something unpleasant about photographing other people's misfortune, but some people like news photographers must do it - and I'm glad they do. In a situation like this where there's no more you can do, I wouldn't feel any qualms. Thanks for sharing it.
Regards, Gary

Shots like this are so hard to resist. S/he actually looks embarrased or bashful in front of the camera.

Really like the muted colours, Carie. Nice to see something less harsh for a change...

Absolutely gorgeous dog and fantastic shot, capturing her bulk and gentle pose. The ears remind me of an Easter bunny!
Well done!

Thanks. It was a cedar branch floating under the water at our cottage this past weekend. The edges are just breaking through at the top right hand corner.

Very foggy, is it covered by snow or water?
Anyway this is really a very natural capture, well done, congrats!

A lovely vista. Very effective framing with the crape myrtle and the azaleas in the foreground. You show just enough of the house to convey the idea of the architecture. Good work . . .

Best wishes,

Thanks for your comments. She had just finished drinking from her water bowl making her nose soaked. That's why it doesn't appear dry but actually is in focus. Unfortunately the chair was stuck under her front armpit so there was no way her ears could be in focus and not the chair. She's a huge dog and if I wanted all of her in focus I had to use an area focus not single.

Makes me sleepy just looking at him. I like how you got down at his level. I think it could be improved just a little if the focus was a little more forward - the chair in the background more out of focus, and his nose a little more in focus. I also have many pictures with the same kind of focus problem. It is a challenge to get it just right.
