This is a beautiful picture of the cactus. We have an enormous one here that is gorgeous when it in bloom. I have tried to get a good picture, but so far, no luck. Your pictue has inspired me to try again. Mary -

Very nicely done Reza. The composition in this image is beautiful, and I agree with your decision to convert to B+W. P.S. You might be interested that I just purchased a vertical grip/battery pack for my D70. I now find the camera to be better balanced, and more comfortable to hold

Reza, you don't suck, taking pictures in winter sucks. It's like writer's block for photographers and it happens once a year. I like this photo, it has the rustic Southwest feeling for sure. Nice fluffy snow, too. The exposure seems a little dark. A little bracketing would take care of that. It has the winter blues kind of look to it

this is a great pic, one thing that I might have done is to rotate the image several degrees to the left in order to correct the horizon or make it more level with the horizon, other than that, I love it, nice job , it looks more like film than digital

Bravo, Reza! A great image. One has to really stare at the thumbnail to see what the subject is. I didn't really get it until I saw the bigger version. The colors and overall feeling of the image are cold, but the fact that you got that close to that cute animal without spooking it is amazing. I can't wait to see what you'll post this spring and summer!

Nice image. The cold colors and the rock really go together. There's so little color here you could even grayscale it for a different effect which might endear it even more to the eye. I am envious of your hikes, I hope to be taking some soon!

That's the thing...he is one of the most active cats I have ever encountered. In the summer, we feed him barely anything because he's outside running around hunting rabbits and mice. His winter coat is another story....Thanks for the comments.

A wonderful and very intelligent friend. Great expression captured. I think a brightness level somewhere between your "dark" version and Amanda's "light" version might work best. I've attached a pic of my friend's "Old English Sheepdog" Kelsey. A difference in size, but the same in devotion.

As I do feel that your opinion could be well supported, I'm not sure that I would make it that bright. Of course it works but I would prefer his fur to be a little less radiant. I suppose it was the mood I was going for.

Reza - he looks just lovely, there is something very nice in his eye, don't you think. I do feel that this picture is very dark though adn I hope you don't mind but I've fixed it for you in Photoshop. Still a little on the yellow side from the incandescant lighting but alot better I feel. Cheers.

Lovely capture. It makes me think of hidden enchanted pools where lonely adventures see their destiny, face, future, or perhaps an equally lonely, yet kissable frog. Given the change I don't think I would have been able to resist the urge to play with the reflections. Very nice.
