Giuliano - I love my Rollei, but it's hard to get that close with it. You can use closeup lenses, but you get too much distortion (big nose syndrome).

Reply to Giuliano - I use 12 min. @ 70 degrees F. for Fuji Neopan in normal light. I subtract about 2 min. for exposure in direct sunlight (something I rarely do!).

Wonderful minimalist arrangement. I just browsed through your portfolio. You have a very artistic eye and sense of compositon. Keep up the good work!

Just a great portrait! Offbeat, candid, and grabs your attention.

I would use PS to fix that one white pixel under his lip. I spent years touching up dust spots on prints with a brush, and those specks just jump right out at me. It sure is a lot easier to fix them digitally.

I use Fuji Neopan 400 processed in PMK Pyro for 99% of my work.

And nice to see someone else still using film!

Reply: No, no PS. That's a straight scan from an 8x10 print.

Slava -
The only post processing was for the border. Those eyes are the real deal.

Beautiful portrait that really captures personality. Have you looked at it in B&W?

Excellent doggie portrait. I do quite a few of them, and I know how hard it can be. Great use of DOF.

I used photoshop to add the black border. Everything else in on the original print. I'm still a low-tech darkroom kind of guy. - Ed

No reflector, I just found a nice spot under a tree in open shade, and used a tripod for the slow exposure (1/30). From a Xmas card photo shoot.

Excellent protrait, great texture, skin tones, and separation. Reminds me of the work of my favourite photographer, Marc Hauser.

Wonderful composition, but I would burn-in the top third of the print to ensure that the focus is on the child.

Thomas, I just found the time to look through your wonderful portfolio. It looks like we share more than the last name! Mainly, a love for Black and White, and the square form. Love your work, especially this one!
