Wonderful image. I captured one of these guys at a refuge a few weeks ago -- but my photo really lack the clarity and the composition of this image. The fact that your crammed it in between all the other things you were doing doesn't make me feel any better. But this is a great shot, beautifully executed. Nice work.

Nicely done wildlife shot, Michael! Great feather detail and I like the way you've presented him in his own natural environment.

Great shot Michael and the poor wee beastie looks all hunched up to ward off the cold. The details are excellent and your pof and dof spot on. The tones are perfect and look totally natural. Well done to you my dear friend for yet another wonderful wildlife study.

In amongst your recent comments you observed that I have a 50D and oh how I wished I could afford a 5D. Ah Michael, Canon have a different pricing policy over here as opposed to America and a 5D is very close to $4,500 or about $4,000 if there is a special offer on the go. My poor old slender income cannot stretct to that and I have to say I have become accustomed to the APS 1.6 ratio. 15 million mega pixals will probably keep me out of trouble . Just before I bought the new body I had to replace my elderly computer and I made sure that the specifications of the new one would cope with large files of raw and tif images. I envy you Michael in some respects because as a young man you are going to participate in so many more changes to digital photography whereas I am now using what will probably be my very last camera outfit, boohoo.

All the very best to you my dear friend, treat yourself to 5D and let's see you rock 'n' roll with it. Take care...Ray

FABULOUS. The details in the bird are superb Michael but the captivating part is the violent movement from the fish as it attempts to escape it's fate. Very well captured my friend a supreme moment. The tones are wonderful too and the dof is just superb. Excellent work. My very best wishes as always. Sorry to be late but I have spent a lot of time recently with my dear brother whose condition has worsened......Ray

Wonderful, your patience paid off. I love to watch these birds, and everyone once in a while one shows up to eat the firsh in the man-made pond outside my office.

Great shot.
