hmmmm, this is interesting photograph but I am unsure about the tones. Is this a scan from print? I think if it's a print, the tones should look a little more natural with natural trasitions. I like the concept very much though.

what a wonderful place to spend a little R&R. thank you David for ALL the kind words. They are deeply appreciated.

I hope I can add to this project over the next few years as it's a very special place for our family -- it will be interesting to see the changes over time.

thank you so much Robi for the splendid words. yes sad and happy -- a little bit like life, yes? Sometimes the photographs are not so good but if I can show a little life then I am happy.

Giuliano, Giuliano, Giuliano..... THIS is stunning work. Maybe your best portrait! Paola this photo has such deep life. Absolutely fantastic. Normally I enjoy a lot of space in portraits, but this photo needs NO space. It has life. very good work!

Thank you so, so, so much Giuliano. and thank you for the information on PMK. This is something I want to try with the landscape photographs. There is one photograph I want to make this winter but I need to intensify the light tones and also the edges between black and white tones. so I must experiment with this developer. I try with the Rollei films first too expensive with the chinese lover ))))

Thank you "teacher of the week"

Eva, you know I enjoy your photos. I like the space in this photo as well as the graphics (windows and nice lines of the space). However I find the lighting of the person pretty distracting. It looks as if she is pasted into the scene... the pasting effect is further accentuated by the dark halo around her legs.

underated? I'm not sure sometimes you just have to make photographs that make you smile -- maybe this series is not so good but I have never enjoyed making a photograph more than these. The conversation with these wonderful people is better than anything I could hope for!!

thank you Ann!!!

I do not know if you read your comments -- it does not appear that you do. But maybe you are willing to give some LF advice. When I edit the original file of my LF photographs, the detail looks so fantastic. But then I resize and compress for the web and many times the files look like garbage... not always but some times. Could you provide advice on this matter?

example: this one looks okay to me - http://www.usefilm.com/image/873344.html
this is trash - http://www.usefilm.com/image/793914.html (but only on the web - the print is fantastic)

thank you

well the photos are quite therapeutic - just like you said. I was going to try and hold out posting anything from this project until it was complete buttttttttt it was nice to bury myself in negatives for a few hours ) helps keep the mind in a different place for a while.

thank you for your unbelievably generous thoughts!!!!

excellent Roger! I nearly forgot about these options. yes, you are right -- they are very good options. I also agree that MF and larger films have such a splendid quality. And I must thank another UseFilm user for turning me towards film last year "Andreas Hering".

oh Ann thank you so much. yes - 'centered' I wanted her in the center because she is 'centered' in life. Her and her husband have such a peaceful life because they live so close to the earth... that is also the reason for such a simple composition.

thank you Fabrice. for me, it is one of my favorites but I do not think this foto is good for the web. I believe it will be better in large print to show the detail of this wonderful and beautiful person!

GG, the foto is good. why do you go back to PMK for second time? but you do not fix again after this second time? What does this do? Intensify the light tones?

Roger, what 6x6 are you considering? I only ask because the PC and T&S lenses for these cameras are soooo expensive. that is why I go with the Shen Hao LF camera. I purchased the camera and 4 lenses (90, 135, 210, 300), 4 lens boards, 4 cable release, and one QuickLoad film holder for the same price as ONE lense for my Rollei. Absolutely crazy!

guess what my fine film friend??? I have made a new purchase ))))) Nikkor 300mm f/9 objectiv. WOW what a magnificent lens and so small!!!!!!! if you take the front standard out of the "rise/fall" tracks, you can focus much closer than infinity with the 300mm. I will make a scan for you tonight from this 300mm objectiv - I think I am only standing maybe 3 meters from the subject. the foto is not so exciting but the lens is
