Barry, I'm beginning to see what you mean about the clouds, I should have remembered to mention the contrast adjustment I did too! Think it may have been overdone. Thanks for pointing that out.

Nice composition and nice idea but the sky's pretty badly blown out and I don't think the heightened contrast in the clouds really looks too real (certainly doesn't look like 1/1600th to me!)
Anyway, love the car. I had a Frogeye for several years and loved driving it. Never had so much fun at 40mph before! Only the brakes let it down - you had to plan some way ahead when travelling with more modern cars if you were to avoid a close liaison with the rear bumper of the car in front.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Nigel, as I was uploading the photo I too was wishing I'd had the Sprite (1969 MkIV) facing the camera!
Will be going out to that spot again to take the photo again. I never understand why some of my shots are out of focus like this, I'm 100% sure I was focused on the car. It's also very grainy, which is odd as it was taken at ISO100.

I like the idea but I would have prefferred a few changes.I feel it is about 1/2 a stop underexposed and also in need of some sharpening. In addition I would have had the car facing the camera which would I feel have made a better overall shot.(Especially if its a Frog Eye Sprite)

nice work here. looking at your portfolio, i see this as one of your stronger compositions and end results. the isolated subject and lighting to accompany this have a nice effect. good job.

Thanks for the comments everyone, can't wait to get round to doing some more portraits with her. Next time I'll try remember to focus on her eye and not her cheek! Still amazed at how shallow a DOF you can get at f/1.8 at this range, which can make it hard to see where the exact focus is.

Thanks for the comment Dan, I agree about the lack of sharpness. I think it must have been a combination of ISO1600 and handheld at 1/30th. I thought I may have got way with it as I (perhaps naively) go by the 'reciprocal of the focal length' rule, but perhaps I was on the limit here!
