Hey Larry!
Looking good! I especially like the way the background appears dark against the nice, crisp white of the crocus flower. Such beautiful flowers...

Thank you everyone! The great thing is that this is the view from my mothers patio--so every night I am over there I witness sunsets that are truly spectacular. Gotta love New Mexico weather!

Oh ok, I was just curious--its a great picture and I was impressed by such shallow DOF--it just seems when I try to capture images such as that I don't seem to have the DOF you obtained (however, I don't have a macro lense--yet!--for my camera, so maybe that will change things). Thanks for posting an answer to my question!

Absoultely awesome photo!! I love it! I, too, am dying to try out some long exposure photos and am going to get the chance to do some in the desert come next week--your exposure time info will be very helpful to me so I won't have to waste too much time on setup. Adding this pic to my favorites BTW.

I like this photo a lot, Larry. It reminds me of the home I grew up in--surrounded by hay fields (although here in the desert all we have are the small piddly 55lb hay bales). Great composition and wonderful colors.

Now that's an interesting spider web--I've seen such before but this one looks much bigger than the ones I've seen. I love the color you captured of the leaves; it makes the photo come together in a really nice way.

I like the wood detail and the perspective as well--it makes me feel as if I was standing there with you when you took the shot. I've never actually seen a covered bridge before, they look quite interesting.

I have to agree with everyone else, this photo is superb! Tilting the camera to accentuate the curvature of the planet was a wonderful idea, not to mention how it offsets the horizon line and adds just SO much more appeal to the photo. The color gradient is beautiful, and the small amount of black included in the upper left-hand corner does for certain make one feel like you were almost floating in space to snap this shot. Wonderful composition, great coloring and congrats on getting a 'scratch fee' window AND a cloud-free flight! Adding this photo to my favorites BTW.

Oh, wonderful catch!!! The colors are awesome and I like the mid-movement composition--makes me just imagine where he flowed to next!! And when I first saw this photo (after reading your bio), I thought it had been taken while scuba diving and I was envious--I am only able to dive in the crustly 'ol lakes of New Mexico where the visibility sucks and the lake scum isn't nearly so photographic. lol Great picture!!

Thank you Nancy, and thank you everyone else that has complimented my photo. And actually Nancy, no after production cropping here...no PS work or anything--I just had to chop the right edge of the tree off in the composition because it was growing right next to a *lovely* light pole. lol

I like this photo a lot. What aperture were you at to get such small DOF? Great color, btw.

Thanks Bill. It's interesting what you say about the light...on my laptop, this photo looks great to my eye, but when looking at it on my computer at work I will agree with you that it looks much too dark. I'm now curious to see how it will look printed. Thanks for your input!!

You know, quite honestly I'm not sure WHO I meant to reply to...I did check out both your and Todds photos and I like both your styles. I think my problem is that I am still pretty new to this website and I just got confused in the process of navigation...lol...but that's fine with me, I got to *meet* you and so it was beneficial on my end for sure!! *wink*

Keep up the good work!

LOL...no, you don't know me...I accidentally got you mixed up with someone else...but that doesn't mean I don't still love your picture. However, it does mean that I 'lied'; I actually haven't seen anything else of yours...but I will be going to look right now. lol

Wellll, seeing as how I am still very new to usefilm, I couldn't find an area to privately mail someone, so I will just post one of my 'not so used' email addresses here for you and then we can go from there. folds_by_erin@hotmail.com And thank you for your willingness to help me learn your border-making...I appreciate it very much. *smile*

Beautiful picture, Larry! I love the color and the detail, but what mostly caught my eye was the border...I'm very interested to know how you did that...on photoshop? Would you be willing to share your techniques??

Wow, nice layout and I absolutely love this photo! I must say I was attracted to it because it appears the trees *might* be palm trees and I love palms...but I dont care what they are, I just love the composition. Great job!

Ooohh, I love this picture! Selective coloring is something I will have to look into...I, too have a D70--I know what you mean about the WB settings! It's just amazing the things you can do once you figure out what stuff like that IS! (New Photographer here...lol)
